Skot Olsen was taught to paint at the age of three by his grandfather, also a painter and an old world cabinetmaker. Since his childhood, he and his family spent their summers sailing through New England and the West Indies. This is where he developed his love of the ocean and maritime culture. A professional painter for over sixteen years, Skot has shown his work in galleries throughout the United States and internationally. His paintings have also appeared in books, magazines, TV shows, board games, and newsweeklies. It was only a matter of time before he decided to expand to a new and more challenging medium, tattooing. Skot’s approach to tattooing is very much like his painting  — he treats every new piece like a true work of art, unique to each client.
