Everything you need to know in 80 seconds

The Basics

Keep it simple

Clean

Rinse with warm, running water and use sterile saline 2-3 times daily. Gently dry any excess saline with a clean paper towel.

Leave it alone

Don't twist, rotate, pick at, or unnecessarily handle your jewelry. Always wash your hands before touching your piercing, if you must.

Keep products away

Don't use peroxide, alcohol, ointments, and harsh soaps on a healing piercing. Keep beauty products at least an inch away.

Avoid pressure & moisture

Don't sleep directly on your piercing or submerge it in water. If you shower at night, be sure to dry your hair before bed!

Healing

Healing takes time.

Swelling going away doesn't always mean your piercing is fully healed. Healing happens from the outside in and can take several months (or longer!) depending on the piercing.

Leave your initial jewelry in place while healing unless your piercer recommends a change.

Travel

Have a trip coming up? Consider waiting until you're home to get pierced, especially if swimming is involved! You'll have easier access to your piercer and medical care if you need support while healing.

pregnancy & Nursing

We don't perform new piercings during pregnancy or while nursing. For existing healed piercings, flexible or alternative jewelry may help keep you comfortable as your body changes.
